From Larry on Training

My Philosophy

Larry's quote: I've come to a frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element in the life of my dogs. It's my personal approach and my daily mood that creates the climate of each training session. As a trainer, I possess a tremendous power to make a dog's life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate, hurt, heal, or help. In all situations, it's my decision whether I will escalate or de-escalate, demoralize or praise, each act of a training session. Never under estimate your power, as a trainer, to mold and to shape a dog.

Once a dog is trained, the team is a wonder to behold. Their relatinship is of respect, loyalty, understanding, and team work. I think this is precisely what God had in mind when He granted humans dominion over the animal kningom. By good training methods, we can transform our dogs...or is it, the dogs transform us.

Thorns may hurt you,
People desert you,
Sunshine turns to fog,
But you're never friendless
If you own a dog.
